I GOT INTO OHIO STATE!

So now that I'm done with college, hopefully I can remember that I have an LJ and I'm supposed to actually post on it more than one every couple of months.

So, Star Trek is eating my brain. Like a lot. This is kinda ridiculous.

College applications are going to be the death of me. Fact of life.

WOW. It's been a really long time. Hm. Didn't mean for that to happen.

So I'll bounce back with this:

I'm venturing out to see Twilight with my sister Thursday round 1ish in hopes that the fangirls won't have overrun the theater so we can see the movie without people squeeing everytime Pattinson comes on the screen. I have read stories about people yelling out bits from Growing Up Cullen which makes me both happy and angry that people just won't shut up during movies. Though I still angry at WB for the Pottergate debacle. I'd much rather be seeing HBP.

So Pushing Daisies didn't get picked up. I'm so distressed about this that I'm actually getting more distressed by the level of alarming distress I feel. Vicious and confusing cycle right there.

Fuck you ABC. Grey's Anatomy sucks, Housewives is just a waste of money, and yet you go out and cancel the only truly original show on tv. Way to be.

Anyway. Pushing Daisies tonight. And this week is important for the show so please please please even if you don't watch the show, flip to it tonight at 8 on ABC and let it play as background noise or whatever, so long as it gets counted. It's the best show ever people!!

It's cold. And supposed to snow tomorrow. I like winter. Everything is pretty and light and it smells like gingerbread everywhere. And drinking Starbuck's gingerbread lattes makes me feel like I'm drinking my childhood Christmases in Germany. And CW missed last week's Supernatural for the stupid JETS GAME. The most EPIC episode EVER and they missed it for FOOTBALL?! FAIL.

So yeah. That's about it. I'll probably have some crazy reaction to a shirtless Van Hansis being kissed by his TV show grand daddy. Wait for that tomorrow when I hopefully catch up. And the new Girls Aloud CD is awesomely addicting.

My Obama buzz just got killed by this: Gay Marriage Banned in California.

For Christ's sake, when will people stop being so narrow minded, ignorant, and prejudiced? Now this is the problem I have with gay marriage. I'm all for it. Love is love, and the emotion doesn't change just because it's between two people of the same sex. And that same emotion can drive two people to want to spend their lives with each other, and it is not the government's job to tell people that they can't. Now my problem with marriage is that it's generally a religious thing, and that is their right to ban it if they want, separation of church and state. However, civil unions are more of a government thing, so that means, to me, that the government has recognized the union and that they should be allowed the tax rights, hospital visitations, adoption rights, and all that stuff that straight couples are allowed. THAT is what people should be fighting for. If marriage is a religious thing, then let the church ban it, because it's the rights from the government that people are fighting for. My aunt and uncle are not religious, and they consider what they have to be a civil union because they went to town hall and don't need a priest to tell them they are married when they really don't buy into that stuff. This is disgusting.

Also, how could they ban adoption for same sex couples? I absolutely abhor the argument that a child cannot be raised properly with two parents of the same sex. What about all the terrorists out there? Bin Laden? Hussein? And the kids that wind up in rehab for trying to kill themselves or going on murder sprees? Convincts? Most of them had a mom and dad, and they don't seem to have been raised that well. A child doesn't need a mom and dad to be raised well, they need people who will love and care for them and protect them, and there is no justifiable argument that a gay couple can't do that.

Tomorrow is November 4, the day when the next president will be chosen to clean up the mess left by the Bush administration. Obviously, I'm for Obama. I'm part of the younger, more liberal generation, blah blah blah. Everyone out there who has registered needs to get out there. Despite the common opinion, one vote can make a difference and each vote means something. It's a huge gift and responsibility to be able to vote. Centuries ago, Americans fought England to claim their right to be their own country and democracy followed. So don't let all that effort go to waste and stay at home instead. Take the gift and use it. The Democrats are making such a huge surge right now, and we need to assert ourselves and try to finally provide the change that the country has been clamouring for. McCain/Palin (though for me, more Palin than McCain) cannot reach office. Too many risks. So to everyone out there, stand in those lines for as long as it takes and get Obama in office for the change we need.

I'm going to do a numbered list cause it's the only way to keep things organized without me crying my head off.

1. David Tennant leaving Doctor Who after four specials. Legit, I forgot to breathe for a minute or so. I'm not going to be able to watch the show without him. I watched it because of him, and now I'll have to stop because he's pretty much irreplaceable. Now I have to stop talking about this or I'll ramble and cry.

2. I went to a Coldplay concert with my sister on Monday at the Izod center and it was amazing. I can't describe how they are live. They're like a force of nature. And Chris Martin is just genuinely a nice and amazing person. I wanted to jump on stage and take him home.

3. It snowed five inches on Tuesday. In October. Pretty cool.
